Literary Expressionism in Flanders

From:
2014 to 2017
This project questions the common view that privileges the so-called ‘autonomous’ over the ‘humanitarian’ interpretation of expressionism in Flanders by unearthing the formal dimension of humanitarian poetry and the ideological (often religious and mystical) dimension of its supposedly autonomous counterpart. In so doing, it aims to provide an overview of the movement's main concepts and images.
