This book deals with the German-Jewish cultural philosopher and writer Margarete Susman (1872-1966), whose work has been left largely unexplored until present. With unfailing intellectual integrity Susman addressed the achievements and cataclysm of European modernity from the turn of the century until the Shoah, constantly crossing borders between aesthetics, religion, politics and philosophy.
